Location: 31 Ammann Road, Boerne, Texas 78015Category: Fellowship
What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, than with coffee, donuts, and sweat?! Please set aside a couple of hours on Saturday, May 5 to participate in Trinity’s first-ever work day. We’ll start at 8 AM, and work until about 10, but feel free to come/leave whenever you can.
Following is a brief description of our work day tasks, and any items that you may want to bring for each.
Paint storage tank piping: There are two PVC pipes and a metal support at the water storage tank at the northeast corner of the facility. We need for 2 or 3 people to clean and paint the pipe and support (the support needs light wire brushing). Everything will be supplied.
Cut & cap pipe: There are about ten 4” PVC pipes protruding up in the parking lot islands. We need 3 or 4 people to cut these to about a 6” height and cap them (without gluing). This is an easy job for a hacksaw; if you have one, please bring it.
Pick up sprinkler piping: It’s time for the temporary PVC landscape pipe to go. We need a couple of people to pick it up (might require a hacksaw to break it up) and deliver it to a third person who will use a provided chopsaw to cut it into short lengths that can be placed in the dumpster. If you have a hacksaw, please bring it.
Pick up rocks: Pick up large rocks remaining in the mowed area. The idea is to throw them in wheelbarrows, and neatly dump them in the little gully that’s just on the north side of the facility. We have wheelbarrows; if interested, you’ll want to bring work gloves. We need about 4 people for this.
Pick up trash: There’s not much trash, and most of it is outside the fence along the frontage. We need 2 people (one’s enough, but there’s not much fellowship in that) to walk the frontage and pick it up.
Repair gate hardware on dumpster and pump house gates: We just need to relocate a couple of existing hardware items, but will need 3 or 4 people. The dumpster gate is a two minute job for one person. Then he can go help the others to relocate the hinges on the pump house gate. Two or three people will need to hold the gate in position, while a third installs the hinges. A drill, bits, and an impact driver will all be provided, but if you have a tool that you just love to use, feel free to bring it.
Clear brush: We can use several people to lop down the cedar shoots, etc., on the east side of the property. We have a couple of pairs of lopping shears, but could use more, if you have them. Also, you might want gloves.
Thanks everyone, for your interest, and we hope to see you this Saturday!
